Dr. Tamar Lewinsky

Tamar Lewinsky, curator for contemparory history at the Jewish Museum Berlin, is responsible for the scientific aspects of the interdisciplinary project. In her research she is dealing, among other things, with Yiddish culture, literature and language and with the history of Jewish migration.

Among her most important works are the book “Displaced Poets“, in which she reappraised the mostly unknown history of Yiddish culture in Germany after the holocaust and the accompanying anthology “Unterbrochenes Gedicht”. Tamar Lewinsky is one of the authors of “Geschichte der Juden in Deutschland von 1945 bis zur Gegenwart.”
